Brokernet Silver Sting

Posted: 20 May 2011 09:00 AM PDT

Hungary, located in central Europe, is not known for anything related to the automotive world. Come to think of it, we have no idea what they are known for at all, but a few car nuts are trying to change all that. You can now say that a very special sports car is made in Hungary and that it's pretty darn good looking as well.

The Brokernet Silver Sting was thought of and built by international GT racer, Kalman Bodis. The team at Bovi Motorsports had the car fully operational for its debut in 2006 at the Luxusauto Show in Budapest, Hungary. One of the coolest parts of this car is its name, Silver Sting, but what's the Brokernet all about? Creating a car that takes seven years to design and build is expensive and the Hungarian financial firm Brokernet is the main sponsor, thus they wanted some naming rights as well.

This car is not only stunningly designed by Zoltan Peredy, but also downright ferocious on the track. Being built by a race car driver, intentions for the Silver Sting were clear. This car was not meant to be taken to elegant car shows, it was meant to get out there and race. Bodis plans to use this car in various GT races throughout the world and plans to show everyone that Hungary is capable of producing a world class car.

More details on the Brokernet Silver Sting after the jump.

BMW M3 GTS by G-Power

Posted: 20 May 2011 08:00 AM PDT

The BMW M3 GTS is no doubt one of the most impressive M3s ever: lightweight body parts, carbon aerodynamic parts, titanium exhaust, racing suspension, roll cage, and racing bucket seats with six-point seat-belts. However, according to G-Power, the GTS is missing one important thing - ultimate output - and the German tuner is ready to offer it.

In order to increase the car’s output, G-Power is offering a "Sporty Drive" supercharger system, adapted specifically for the BMW M3 GTS. The new system will increase the car’s output from a standard of 450 HP to 635 HP and 464 lb-ft of torque.

The new "Sporty Drive" supercharged system is combined with a lightweight, all-titanium exhaust system that delivers the necessary reduction in exhaust back pressure. The exhaust, developed specifically to suit the requirements of the SK II supercharger system, is equipped with 100 cpsi metal catalytic converters.

With the new output, the G-Power M3 GTS will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and to 124 mph in 11.9 seconds. Top speed is 200 mph.

If you are interested in obtaining the new "Sporty Drive" system, G-Power is offering it for a price of €23,500 - or about $33,500 at the current exchange rates - not including taxes or installation.

KTM X-Bow R

Posted: 20 May 2011 06:00 AM PDT

KTM has unleashed the most powerful X-Bow ever. The new R version will feature an Audi sourced engine from the S3, but while the engine delivers 265 HP in the S3, it has been tuned to provide 300 HP for the X-Bow R.

The X-Bow R features a considerably lower positioning and a modified mounting of the engine that will lead to even higher cornering speeds and increased driving precision. If KTM receives enough interest, they will offer two road legal and homologated packages: a "Sport" version and a "Race" package, which is optimized for track use.

The packages each include a vast number of completely new developed parts, which increase the performance of the car dramatically. Many of these parts will be also available separately in the PowerParts program, so all current KTM X-BOW owners will enjoy the benefit of the new developments.

UPDATE 05/20/11: The KTM X-Bow R has made its debut on the Red Bull Ring in the presence of national and international motorsports personalities. At the event, it showed exactly what it is capable of, giving the company a grand opportunity to provide some more images for us to ogle.

More details on the KTM X-Bow R after the jump.

Endora SC-1

Posted: 20 May 2011 05:00 AM PDT

While many believe that German automakers are only good at designing impressive luxury or sport sedans, Endora-Cars Germany is out to prove that this is indeed not the case with their new SC-1. The Endora SC-1 is a based on the Chevrolet Corvette and combines the classic design of the sixties and early seventies with modern technology. It is defined by dynamically flowing body lines, a sporty sketched silhouette with a distinctive swing, and, of course, impressive performance numbers.

The SC-1 will be offered in three different versions, all of them with V8 engines ranging from 437 to 647 HP. The engines will be combined with a six-speed-manual gearbox, electronic traction control, and an Active Handling-system. Take a glance at the rear of the car and you will notice it has no exhaust system, and that’s because the burned gasoline will be removed by sidepipes that end directly before the rear wheel openings.

Audi TR8 by Project Kahn

Posted: 20 May 2011 03:00 AM PDT

Judging this tuning package on the project name alone would lead anyone to believe that Project Kahn had worked on another kit for the Audi R8. Take a close look at the images provided and any Audi lover will tell you that this is simply not the case. Although the vehicle you see before does come with the face of an R8, the body actually belongs to its younger brother, the Audi TT

The TR8 project seems to be the kind of project that could provide any TT owner a chance to look like a baller without actually spending the cash needed to back it up. The package started with a 2.0 FSI Audi TT and then escalated with the use of new front and back vented bumpers with mesh inserts and a new front grille fashioned to look like the ones found on the R8. What really makes the tuning package are the R8 style side blades that we guess, at a quick glance, can make a small number of people think they just saw an R8 go by. Other additions to the exterior are a new rear spoiler, a stainless steel quad exhaust system, sports lowered suspension springs, and a front lower bumper lip and door mirrors in a billet steel finish to match the dark gray exterior paint of the Audi. The shiny factor is taken care of with a new set of 20" RSV alloy wheels. For further customization, the TR8’s interior can be altered using a complete bespoke interior design service available to suit individual tastes.

A lot of work was put into the exterior of the car, but that’s where the similarities - if you can really call them that - to the R8 end. The TR8 is simply all bark and no bite with only 200 HP and 207lb-ft of torque coming out of the 2.0L FSI TT engine which is a far cry from the R8’s 430 HP and 317 lb-ft of torque.

Posted: 20 May 2011 02:00 AM PDT

Aston Martin will be celebrating the iconic DB4GT Zagato’s 50th anniversary with a new concept car developed in collaboration with the Italian design house Zagato. The concept car made its first appearance at the Villa D'Este Concours on May 21st, 2011 and will make its racing debut at Nürburgring on May 28th.

Dr. Ulrich Bez, Chief Executive said: "The DNA of both Aston Martin and Zagato has combined successfully to make some of the world's most desirable collector cars in the past and in this special anniversary year of the DB4GT Zagato it is appropriate to explore a modern collaboration. Now is the right time for a new Aston Martin Zagato and in combining our design intelligence I think we can create something fitting of the iconic DB4GT Zagato that has gone before and since established itself as one of the most famous Aston Martins of all time."

The original Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato made its first appearance in 1960 at the London Motor Show. It was essentially a much lighter DB4 GT that got worked on by the Italian Coachbuilder to include a 3670 cc straight-6 DOHC engine that produced 314 HP with a top speed of 154 mph.

Eagle E-Type Lightweight Speedster

Posted: 19 May 2011 12:00 PM PDT

Two years ago, British manufacturer Eagle introduced the world to their rendition of the Jaguar E-type with the E-Type Speedster at the Salon Prive. The car was light, fast, and it gave the driver hassle-free driving when compared to the E-Types of yesteryear. Now the company has reworked their modern day classic with an even lighter version called the Eagle E-Type Lightweight Speedster, scheduled to make its debut at the Salon Prive at Syon House in west London on June 22-24, 2011

Eagle is well-known for their dedication to the development of Jaguar’s E-Types and have been restoring and selling them since 1982. Their passion for the E-Type is what lead them to create a model that throws back to the design of Jaguar’s Lightweight E-Type race cars built in 1963, but with a modern twist and a more powerful engine.

The Eagle Lightweight Speedster only weighs 2,200 lbs and that weight is powered by a 4.7 liter, aluminum in line 6 cylinder engine that delivers an impressive 310 HP with a peak torque of 340 lb-ft.

Pioneer Springs Car Navigation into Augmented Reality

Posted: 19 May 2011 11:00 AM PDT

In-car navigation is still not something that every car on the road features - it’s not even something that is available on every new car - but the technology is growing by leaps and bounds. GPS and DVD style systems have been available for years and some even include real time traffic updates, but Pioneer is taking another step into the future with their augmented reality systems. These systems use a camera to project the image of what is in front of the car onto a screen in the cabin. Things around the car such as other vehicles, stores, traffic lights, etc are then superimposed with other images for identification.

The new Pioneer AVIC-VH09CS double din unit can be useful in a navigation system for several reasons, mainly making your destination easily identifiable. Audi has recently introduced navigation systems with Google Earth maps that show real satellite images of the destination. Since the new Audi A8 has more electronics than the space shuttle, it includes a 3G high speed cellular connection allowing data to be downloaded. This WiFi hotspot is also able to support your cell phone, computer, or ipad for internet use. The MMI navigation system uses Google Maps destinations in order to search and navigate to a specific location. The system is further enhanced by allowing the driver to select Wikipedia articles and panoramic images of certain points just as if you were searching Google on your computer. This can be helpful when searching for a hidden location in an unknown area.

Hit the jump to see what Pioneer has done to rectify this situation.
